My friend wants a home. He wants to use a Fake W-2 Does the Mortgage company Check those things.?
basically the mortgage company told him they need the w-2 in order to go forward. I told him its not a good idea but he is so fixated on getting that house. He wants to use a fake statement for last year. I have a terrible feeling he will get caught and be in trouble with IRS. does someone know if they check w-2 statements in the mortgage process
The mortgage company probably asked him before for his tax return. I suspect he turned in a fake one, saying he made more money than the real one states. Now they want the W-2 to back up the tax return.
Tell him not to fake one. He’ll get caught. I think he’ll be under tighter scrutiny from the IRS, but also he may go to prison.
Will overdraft fees on my checking account hurt me when applying for a home mortgage?
My husband and I found a home we love and are wanting to buy it. We will be going to the bank soon to see about getting approved for a loan. We are currently a home owner, our bills are never late and we really dont have much debt. However, because of careless mistakes our checking account has some overdraft fees. Im worried that they will look at our checking statements and see this. Although, they are all small fees and we usually put money in to cover the fee right afterwards. It still makes me nervous.
Case-by-case fees on your checking account are internal in banks, or at least at the 3 banks I’ve worked at they were. Is the bank you’re applying for a loan with the same bank?
For a Mortgage, steady, reliable income and asset-to-debt ratio is much more important to the institution than an occasional overdraft fee.
Sent Cashiers Check for mortgage payment.. how to stop it?
I have a VA loan that I started in Aug and my first payment was due in Oct. My wife sent a 1300.96 cashier check to them and has been sending them one every month since then up until Jan. In Jan I went to apply for a car loan and was told I had not been paying my mortgage payment and my credit score was way too low to approve. I am about to go to my bank here in Oklahoma and I need to know what I need to ask them or if they can even help me. I just received my income tax and with the 7500 house credit I can pay the overdue amount of 6,725.92 but as i’m sure you can understand i would much rather be able to either stop the cashier’s check to get a refund back to my account of the checks i’ve been sending or for the mortgage company to find them and cash them. They dont know where they are and are blaming my wife for not putting the account number on the checks even though she uses the return envelope that the statement comes in. I really need help as this is not an area that i am very familiar with thank you.
When i checked my “profile” for the account they had my phone number listed wrong and when i called the number another person answered with the same last name as mine. They never sent any like red letter statement saying we were overdue they say that on the statements it would say Oct payment due on each of them but why wouldn’t they send a overdue notice as well or stick one in with the regular statement? Its all very confusing just trying to get to the bottom the easiest way without having to bring lawyers into it.
Cashier checks are guaranteed payments to the name on the check, they cannot be stopped once legitimately issued.
You need to know what address your wife sent them too.
You need to take your receipt for each check to the bank and have them do a trace on it to see if they have been cashed and by whom.
You need to call your lender and find out what is going wrong, is it going to the wrong address, being applied to the wrong account, whatever.
Until the trace comes back, which can take a long time for cashiers checks, you will need to catch up the payments and continue making new payments, but make sure the check is completed correctly, your account number for loan is correct and the remittance address is the right one.
First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit?
I closed on my home October 30, 2009. Today’s date, July 13th. I still have NOT received my tax credit. My home was $90k which entitled me to the full $8k. I first sent the papers in November when I called to check the status 4 weeks later they hadn’t received the paperwork so I then resent it certified mail. Well in April they sent me a letter saying they needed more proof of address so I sent them my bank statement (which also showed utilities, phone & cable all paid in my name from this address), check stubs, & mortgage statement. Whenever I call now they say its still “in process” has anyone else had this problem, can anyone offer me advice what to do now? Its been 8 months going through whats supposed to be a 12-16week process.
Sounds like a government program alright.
And these are the same people who want to run health-care.
As for what to do, Sounds like you have done everything. You could always consult with an attorney, or even contact major media in your area to do a story on this so called “Obama housing program” not working. The attention might get your credit faster.
What Should I bring with me, for when i close on my new house?
I’m having a house build for my family and I and i close in 2 days. I have my cashiers check my statements and all my mortgage papers. I want to be pretty thorough when i go to settlement.
Hopefully, you have a lawyer to tend to legal matters that crop up in addition to the boilerplate items. If yes, then he or she should be able to give you a checklist so you can assure yourself you have everything you need.
